Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city and said to be one of the oldest cities in Europe. A city that we as a family love to visit.
Church of the Holy Mother of God
It was a super hot day and what better way to cool off that cover yourself in fresh mineral water from a peacock fountain?
The Ancient Theatre, where they still do open air operas etc.
Ancient Stadium of Philipopolis
Buried beneath the city are the ruins of this ancient stadium.
Where Emma’s hand is on the model of what the stadium would have looked like in it’s time, the stairs by her little finger is where the photo below is taken in the ruins.
Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in Bulgaria!
